We recently announced our $400M fifth fund, YLV V! The oversubscribed fund brings YL Ventures’ total assets under management to $800M, and breaks the record for the largest seed-stage cybersecurity-focused fund raised to date.  The fund will continue to lead seed rounds, as well as invest in companies’ follow-on rounds, creating a strong support mechanism and providing entrepreneurs with a long and stable runway for growth regardless of the market environment.

In addition to celebrating our fifth fund and 15 years of operations, we also excitedly announced the promotion of Sharon Seemann and Michael Cortez to Partnership!

We’re thrilled to share that YL Ventures was chosen as a finalist in SC Media's Early Stage Investor of the Year Award, and is featured in eSecurityPlanet’s list of 'Top VC Firms in Cybersecurity for 2022'!

"As the vendor landscape continues to increase, security leaders continue to struggle to navigate all of the different solutions and increasing solicitations. Here are some considerations when reaching out or communicating with security leaders: 1). Try not to educate security leaders about the latest industry threats and risks or use scare tactics to gain our attention. We would be much more receptive if you tailored the information to a company priority or challenge and how you can help to address it. 2). Make sure you focus on how your solution fits into the security ecosystem. We typically want to see where exactly new or advanced capabilities complement or enhance our programs. 3). Research who works for the security leaders and the roles they play. We often end up forwarding solicitations or introductory follow-ups to our staff, so if you find who works for the security leaders you may be more successful eventually getting back to the security leader you’re targeting."
