"Security products are most successful and welcomed in a company when they grow the relationship between security and its internal customers and partners.
If you sell a product that works great for the security organization, but transfers a lot of work to a development organization or another business owner without being tuned to their workflows, you may be successful in the short term, but rarely in the long term.
When releasing a product, make sure to truly understand how customers use it. Will they need to create accounts in "yet-another-development-tool" for each developer? Or does it integrate seamlessly with tools these devs already use? Will it enable a security leader to have more mature conversations with business partners? If you can answer yes, you'll have a much easier time selling. And you'll grow fans across the organization and are assured of a long term commitment."
